This training is designed to help educators, specifically infant/toddler educators, understand ways they can build literacy in the first few years of life. Educators will gain a deeper understanding of how infants develop pre-literacy skills. Participants will learn about the importance of infant/toddler early literacy, how early literacy may look for infants/toddlers, and how to tie in early literacy with things they may already do in their classroom. Educators will be given tools to share the knowledge they gained with parents so these lessons can be incorporated in the home as well. Participants will participate in a hands-on activity to practice the skills gained during the workshop.
