Summary
Intentional Read Aloud is an important part of a comprehensive literacy program. It is a high utility practice that develops language and reading skills, exposes children to different books, and creates a shared community around literacy. During this training educators will be introduced to new children's books. They will be introduced to developmentally appropriate books for different age groups and have activities that will continue the learning. There will be a PowerPoint that allows educators to see some of the books that were not brought in for the training. Through a voting process the educators will vote on which book they enjoyed the best and that will become the winner. This will be a hands on learning with make & take items that will enhance the language and literacy in the classroom. They will also have some small group activities and look at books themselves. While looking at the books they will come up with developmentally appropriate activities to share with group.
