Gross motor skills encompass the large movements of the body and fine motor skills require precise movements of small muscles. Gross and fine motor skills are connected. For example, if a child does not have core strength (gross motor) they will struggle with writing (fine motor). Participants will examine the ins and outs of motor skill development using hands-on learning techniques. During this workshop participants will: - Define the terms gross motor and fine motor. - Examine the importance of motor skills development. - Develop a plan for supporting motor skills development in their program setting.
