Summary
This online course focuses on the principle that young children learn best from trusted and responsive adults through back-and-forth interactions. Because interactions underscore relationships and the impact it has on children’s learning, we look at brain architecture as a key component of interactions and its effect on learning. The content explores the definition for brain architecture, and with examples of serve and return interactions detailing the influence on early brain development. With research that indicates disruption of developing brain architecture from persistent absence of critical interactions, the course examines the relationship between poor interactions and the body’s stress response.
