Part 1: In the first section of the training we will discuss Erik Erikson's stages of development and Jean Piaget's cognitive development stages. Part 2: The second part of the training will cover Maria Montessori and Montessori programs as well the Reggio Emilia Approach. Part 3: This last section will look into Lev Vygotsky and Lawrence Kohlberg. The training will end with information about developmentally appropriate practice and the 12 principles of child development and learning. Participants are also given an opportunity to reflect on their own approach to development and what theorist they most closely align with. Assessment: There are quizzes throughout the training to gauge students learning throughout. There is a pre-assessment at the beginning of the course that matches up with the end of course quiz as well. There are worksheet questions throughout the course that relate to the objectives and are reviewed by a trainer before a certificate is issued.
