Part 1: In the first section of the training we will look at emotional development and how children learn to regulate emotions. We will also discuss helping children learn to accept feelings and how to support children through inevitable distress. Part 2: The next section of the training looks at some techniques to use for self-calming. Yoga is looked at as a viable option for practicing beneficial breathing exercises and techniques. We will also explore some beneficial and age appropriate yoga poses and body awareness and safety exercises as well. Part 3: The final section of the training will include information about how to schedule calming activities into the children's day and what emotional triggers to watch out for.
