Part 1: In the first section of the training we will explore who Shel Silverstein is as an author and person and some of their most popular works. Part 2: The next section of the training we look at how these works support early literacy, critical thinking, vocabulary, phonemic awareness, social and emotional development, and English language learners. Part 3: The final section of the training will include lesson planning ideas to incorporate in the classroom. Assessment: Our courses provide multiple points of assessment that include discussion boards with prompted questions and interaction with trainers and other providers. We also include open-ended questions reviewed by trainers and multiple choice quizzes with a required passing score of at least 80% or higher.
