Part 1: In the first section of the training we explore what autism is, what we know about autism, important autism facts and statistics, common myths, and the basics of autism. Part 2: The next section of the training we will discuss signs and symptoms of autism in relation to social skills, communication and behavior. Part 3: The final section of the training looks at autism awareness, early signs and red flags, developmental red flags, physical and medical issues related to autism, approaching parents with concerns, and the role of the educator. Lastly, we will look at ways to support children through sensory experiences, visual aids, things to keep in mind, and what it feels like from the perspective of a child with autism.
