Summary
Young children depend exclusively on parents/caregivers for survival and protection — both physically and emotionally. Without the support of a trusted caregiver to help regulate their strong emotions, children may experience overwhelming stress, which can affect an individual’s ability to build healthy relationships and attachments. This course will outline the various types of trauma and the effects trauma has on a child’s development and attachment style, along with ways to support children with trauma history in a classroom setting.
