This SEL workshop will help ECE teachers and administrators with general approaches and practices to facilitate social and emotional learning in the classroom including, but not limited to: Creating a warm, safe, and supportive learning environment. Developing positive relationships with students by demonstrating care, concern, and believing in their ability to succeed. Allowing opportunities for children to express themselves, self-reflect and evaluate their surroundings. Creating opportunities for relationship-building, communication, and cooperative learning. Incorporating children’s interests and experiences into curriculum. Giving children choices, when possible - to increase motivation and instill a sense of ownership over their activities and learning. Adapting teaching methods to address different learning styles, etc.
