This training covers the importance of play as a vehicle for learning during the early childhood years. We will discuss object and social play taxonomies, how to set and implement play goals, and how to provide direct instruction to strengthen childrens’ play skills. Teachers will have an opportunity to practice identifying types of play (video and discussion), identifying their students’ current levels of play (in small groups), and setting play goals for their own students (in small groups).
