In this interactive session, participants will learn how diseases are transmitted and learn preventative measures for limiting the spread of disease in child care facilities (including proper hand-washing, diapering procedures, and methods for sanitizing and disinfecting). In addition, participants will be able to identify symptoms of illness and understand the guidelines for exclusion of ill children according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. Proper procedures for administering, documenting, and storing medications will also be addressed.
