The Child Care and Development Fund health and safety requirements for providers receiving federal financial assistance include training in the prevention of sudden infant death syndrome and the use of safe sleeping practices. Child care providers who work with infants and toddlers are required to have knowledge of safe sleep practices and how to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Effective providers must also understand Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) its signs, effects, and preventative strategies. This course is designed to provide important health and safety information to child care providers working with infants and toddlers.
