In early childhood education, educators are consistently working to observe and document each child’s learning to support their strengths and weaknesses and continue providing opportunities for meaningful learning. When educators couple observations with assessments, it provides them with a rich understanding of how to plan experiences and activities that address children’s needs and interests. In this course, educators will define and understand the importance of assessment in early childhood and connect how assessments inform developing activities and experiences to meet every child’s needs and development.
