?In the first five units of the Early Literacy Certification: Foundations of the Science of Reading™?, learners were deeply immersed in the study of language and literacy fundamentals for early childhood. They learned about current and responsive practices, oral language, phonological processing, and phonics. They also had opportunities to put what they learned into practice through the Two to Try activities and reflection practices. In Unit 6 of the Early Literacy Certification, they will take the foundational knowledge they have gained and develop six graded projects to create a portfolio of evidence of their learning throughout the program. In this unit, they will be supported with live virtual classes, discussion groups, and one-on-one coaching from expert early literacy coaches. After the successful completion of their six projects, they will be awarded certification in the science of reading!
