Summary
Within the workshop, participants will be given opportunity to prepare scripted stories for social situations that will help children understand social interactions, expectations, social cues, the script of unfamiliar activities, and/or social rules. These scripted stories may be used as tools to effectively provide support for children with persistent challenging behaviors as individuals and as a group. By involving young learners through scripted storytelling, they will understand the expectations of a situation and a problem behavior within the context of a situation. Addressing topics about challenging behaviors, early brain development, and toxic stress will be carried throughout the webinar presentation.
