Summary
The course takes about two hours to complete toward annual training requirements. The training is provided by Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) Central Office staff and regional health office staff after they have been trained by TDH staff. CEUs (Continuing Education Units) are provided to child care attendees whom complete the training at no additional cost. Any provider may take the training. Gold Sneaker certification requires an additional online application. Objectives include: - Discuss Gold Sneaker history - DIscuss obesity among TN’s young children enrolled in WIC - Discuss Gold Sneaker impact on obesity - Discuss Gold Sneaker policy placement on the TDHS Star-Quality Report Card Program - Understand revised Gold Sneaker policies - Discuss TDHS Licensing Program Evaluator Responsibilities for Gold Sneaker - Discuss Providers choosing NOT to adopt Gold Sneaker policies - Discuss Gold Sneaker benefits - Understand policy implementation and resources
