Summary
This training is designed to lay the foundation regarding infant feeding and feeding skills for all participants. The initial part of the training will go over infant meal patterns. USDA standards, breast feeding and the introduction of solid foods using a lecture style format. As we begin discussing feeding skills, I will encourage participants to share their own experiences and the interactions they have with parents about when to introduce solid foods. While going over messy eating, I will have participants discuss their own situations and suggest solutions to any issues they may have. I will show a short video clip on choking versus gagging and ask for pertitcipant responses.
