Gain an overview of language & literacy skills in young children and what research says about developing early literacy skills and best practices for teaching young children vocabulary, oral language skills, concepts of print, print knowledge, and more. This training uses a variety of methods of delivery such as lecture, reflection, response, handouts, and the use of videos. The learner is asked to reflect on why they need a plan for language and literacy for infants and toddlers. This is then discussed by the trainer. Other components to support learning include assignments for practicing concepts in the real world and an online quiz. Reflect and Share responses are monitored as participants work through their courses.
