Summary
This training will be presented as a lecture with interactive components to increase understanding and provide opportunities for practice of concepts. Training information is centered around the Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards, specifically Social Emotional Development, Language and Early Literacy, Creative Arts, and Physical Movement. The presenter will give an overview of how music is processed in the brain, and how those brain areas overlap with those utilized in emotional processing and physical movement, providing a foundation for the benefits of music in early childhood development. Finally, the presenter will provide examples for implementation of music activities into activities corresponding with the Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards identified above.
