Within the workshop, participants will be presented with a photograph of Eddie M. CoCo Jr., which is used as an entry point for discussion. The importance of providing critical foundational skills within the early childhood years will be addressed as it relates to educational inequalities; such as; Pipeline to Prison, Preschool Expulsion and Suspension Rates. Early childhood professionals will show how their interactions and individual biases affect children and their future outcomes. The Artful Thinking Strategy routine "See, Think, Wonder" is applied to promote thoughtful thinking and will lead to deeper engagement about the true meaning of quality educational opportunities and the responsibility of each educator to ensure the success of all students.
