Summary
This particular training gives teachers an understanding of how children develop knowledge about forces of motion and properties of objects through experimenting with ramps and pathways. Teachers participate in explorations using small ramps, objects of different sizes, and other materials to discover the areas of problem solving and variables involved in working with ramps and pathways. We also observe videos of children engaged in explorations and children in the museum at our roller coaster and pathway magnet wall. Afterwards we discuss the inquiry process skills children engaged in, the learning processes observed, as well as what the teachers or parents did to facilitate learning. Finally, we will discuss activities to share with parents and to be done in the classroom during the next month before we meet again.
