Part 1: In the first section of the training we look at literacy and families including the importance of reading to children and family-centered literature. We will explore the book Monday is One Day and include ways to incorporate this book into the classroom. Part 2: The next section of the training discusses valuing diverse families, communicating with families and the importance of recognizing and avoiding biases. Part 3: The final section of the training look at ways to choose literature to include and how to go beyond the book to support development. We will include multiple lesson plans to support various family-centered books.
