Gain an understanding of the importance of nature play to the healthy development of the young child. Part 1 :In the first section of the training we look at how lifestyle affects children's relationships with nature, tips for playing outdoors with children, the idea of nature deficit and it's implications. Part 2: The next section of the training we explore health effects of not providing enough outdoor time away from screens and childhood obesity. Part 3: The final section of the training covers nature in the classroom and how to incorporate nature-centered units, growing things in the classroom, greener living, the classroom environment, creating an outdoor classroom and natural playscapes. We will end the training with various lesson planning ideas to incorporate nature in the classroom.
