In a large group, we review the importance of social and emotional development, describe specific skills preschoolers learn, and reflect on the role educators play in the process. We then break into smaller groups to interact with the traveling exhibit XOXO: A Project about Love & Forgiveness. Its exhibit pieces aim to involved participants in exercises of caring, expression, and cooperation. Participants will also discuss classroom applications that relate to their experiences in the exhibit. Also in a smaller group, participants will have hands-on experiences with activities and resources they can use in their classrooms that are aimed at fostering feelings identification, regulation, cooperation, and more.
